Bill BedellBill Bedell graduated Magna Cum Laude from The State University of New York in 1977 with his BA in Psychology. While in New York, he worked as a staff facilitator for the Center for Divorced/Separated Women and Families working with children from fatherless homes.Prior to his relocation to the Puget Sound area, he was a member of the New York State Executive Department, Division of Parole where he worked as an Institutional Parole Officer at the State Maximum Security Prison in Dannemora, NY. Bill received his post-graduate training and Board Certification in Addictionology in 2002 from the American College of Addictionology and Compulsive Disorders, Graceland University, Saint Martin’s College and the American College of Oriental Medicine. Since then, he has been working with men and male teens in addictive behavior assessment and personal recovery program development. He has recognized personal victory over his life-long struggle with ADD and addictive behaviors within the context of the “Quadrant Healing” process. This experience has facilitated his passion and personal connection with males who struggle with similar behaviors.
Bill has been a health and nutritional consultant since 1990. His knowledge of
non-invasive amino-therapy options for the genetically based neurochemical imbalances
that precipitate ADD and addictive behaviors is extensive. He had been trained by the
leading research scientists and practitioners in the area of genetic predisposition for
addictive behaviors, cravings toward self-medication due to neurotransmitter imbalance,
and the latest research on alternative, non-pharmaceutical approaches toward restoration
of a more functional “Metabolic” state of personal well-being that opposes relapse
within the recovery process.
Bill was the Washington State Representative for Celebrate Recovery, a faith-based 12 Step Program, for three years, and is co-founder of the Life Recovery Skills Program. He has been trained as a facilitator by Life Skills International, Aurora, CO, and has worked with his wife Leslie in the development of the “Healing the Wounded Child” curriculum that targets the “Emotional Quadrant”, often overlooked in the on-going recovery process. Family of origin wounds that cause shame, lack of trust, isolation and low self-esteem; if not healed, will most often drive individuals back into their addictive or abusive behavior that has enabled them to survive. Stepping into safe environment with others who are also in the healing process has proven to be successful long term. Bill is the Pastor of Healing Ministries at Snoqualmie Valley Alliance Church and
facilitates marriage and pre-marriage counseling curriculums for couples. He facilitates
Life Recovery Skills groups for men in affiliation with Cloud Townsend Communications
(Boundaries, Safe People, Hiding From Love, Mom Factor), and has co-developed the
courses "Healing the Wounded Child" and "Fathoms" which allows individuals to connect
and receive some deep healing in areas of childhood wounding. His passion: individual
recovery, relational restoration and family healing.
