Emotional

The emotional component in the recovery process is one that requires the most time as it has been shaped over a lifetime of inherited generational baggage, feelings of shame, and lack of self-love. All significant and long lasting recovery requires this Quadrant to be healed.

If you have struggled with ADD or addictive behaviors, you have surely suffered from the effects of shame, guilt, lack of trust, rejection, and the feeling of being "different".

These emotional wounds have become foundational in your belief system, degrade your self- esteem, and can destroy your relationships with others.

Emotional trauma exacerbates the desire to medicate and it will compound the struggles faced by those who have ADD. It is within this quadrant that the "wounded child" needs to be healed and regain self-esteem. As a result, new and healthy choices and relationships can be achieved.

                 Healing the Wounded Child

Having been involved in our own healing process, which we will generally term “Life Recovery” for the past 14 years, we recognize the value as well as the commitment it requires to see the benefits. Learning to change life-long behaviors is a “one layer at a time” process. This program has been productive because it offers not only a supportive environment, but also an understanding concrete skills and tools that can be used on a daily basis

The tools and environment address many of the fundamental needs in the discovery and healing process for the “Emotional Quadrant”. This composite program called “Healing the Wounded Child ” has offered hundreds of men and women the opportunity to begin their journey toward emotional healing in a safe and systematic way.  While there are no stated or implied guarantees as a result of participation in this program, history has shown that the knowledge you receive will provide you with life-changing tools that, if used properly, can lead to reconstructed self-esteem, reconciled relationships and revitalized hope. Of course, the decision to apply these tools correctly and consistently is always an individual choice. It takes work and practice and like the cliché says, “you will get out of the class what you put into it.”  What you will receive is grace and truth over time............

Additional Class and Group Environments

We offer many structured, facilitated group learning environments that assist in healing emotional wounds, setting appropriate boundaries, having difficult discussions with loved ones as well as determining how we continue to grow-up emotionally.

We have been personally trained by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend of Cloud/Townsend Resources; authors of "Boundaries", "Safe People", "Hiding From Love", "How People Grow" and many other national best sellers.  We have participated in several "process groups" at their Ultimate Leadership Summit, and have chosen to incorporate what we have experienced into the group learning dynamic at Life Recovery Skills.

Growth groups are offered on an on-going basis, led by certified Life Recovery Skills facilitators who have come through the growth process themselves. You can review a complete list of class offerings in the "Classes" section of this site. Please contact us for upcoming facilitated groups and curriculum.
